Dear Reader, Too much over the last several decades, musicians have attempted to create new genres. However, rarely have these musicians actually broken new ground. Instead, they have simply combined genres, recreating what others toiled years to discover. Musicians within the post-rock or math-rock genres do not often fit into this category. Genres that do not break through into the mainstream are often given a free pass when it comes to originality. Therefore, there is something special about these genres that, once "copied," are no longer unique or special. A pushpanjali is a floral offering to the gods-- making this album an "offering" to those who spent countless dollars and emotions foraging for a refreshing genre. It is an ode, a tribute, an homage. It will never be true math-rock, nor do we pretend that it is. Instead, it is simply praise sent through the instruments of two musicians stuck in the diaspora that is 90s alt-rock. The last track is an admission of guilt without apology. We have never written math-rock songs prior to this album, and we probably will never record another album like this again. As mentioned before, it becomes too easy to tarnish the good name of an untouchable genre. In any event, we hope that you will enjoy a half hour of divinity.
Love Always, p.s. why don't you go download the album? |
